Ukiyo-e is a unique national art in Japan, which mainly depicts people's daily life, landscapes and performances. It originated from the Edo period of Japan and has presented a special color and richness that has influenced the development of art in Asia and the world for more than three hundred years. Both classicism and impressionism are all inspired by this style of painting. Therefore, it can be said that ukiyo-e has high artistic value.

As the most distinctive form of painting in Edo period in Japan, ukiyo-e broke free from the shackles of the brush of the past with its beautiful and colorful imagery and technique of maintaining a high degree of harmony between lines and color schemes, and also created the Japanese nation to achieve high artistic achievements.

This daring and innovative artistic concept is in line with the style that AET REMOULD has long adhered to. So we decided to combine watchmaking art with Japanese ukiyo-e to create a unique watch artwork.

The sun and waves are the most classic images in ukiyo-e, and the design of the dial is inspired by them. Through smooth lines and color matching, the designer depicts a mythical scene on the watch, showing the national art of Ukiyo-e concisely and vividly.

Among them, the use of waves and the sun reflects the Japan theme. The waves represent Japan as an island nation surrounded by sea; the sun is the solar element in the Japanese flag and symbolizes loyalty.

This exquisite Ukiyo-e inspired landscape is unobstructed by the pure and transparent sapphire case, while the Japanese national art can also be found in the AET REMOULD timepiece.
